I have been using ChatGPT to help me write my two-volume family saga. For example, volume one opens in a Jewish ghetto in Warsaw Poland in 1881. What does a house in the ghetto look like? I entered the following prompt in ChatGPT.

Describe the small house with the thatched roof and dirt floor of a poor family in the Warsaw Jewish ghetto in 1881. Describe the beds, tables, stove, and other furniture and belongings of the mother, father, and 16- and 12-year-old-sons.

I used ChatGPT’s response to describe the family’s home.

In future blogs I will show you how to create a ChatGPT account, and use ChatGPT to generate story ideas and outlines, develop dynamic characters, describe vivid settings, aid in research, and create blurbs, queries, and summaries. I will invite participants to join an informal group of writers who want to share their experiences with ChatGPT.
